This Privacy Notice lets you know what happens to personal data we use and hold when you have driving lessons or take other services from us.

If you provide us with personal information on behalf of another person, you must ensure that it is accurate, up to date and that you have their authorisation to do so. Where this privacy policy refers to “you” this also includes data about anyone else named on the policy or whose data you provide us with.

1           MBM Driving Tuition AND OUR DATA PROTECTION OFFICER (DPO)

  • We are MBM Driving Tuition. Also referred to as MBM Driving Experience.
  • Our main address is 17 Great Croft, Firsdown, Salisbury, SP5 1SN. We have a Data Protection Officer who you can contact by using the contact details below.

2          PERSONAL DATA WE HOLD AND USE

2.1            We use several different types of information about you,

What data we might hold:
(a)            personal and contact details, your date of birth, gender and/or age;
(b)            records of your contacts with us and your payment details;
(c)             marketing information, including records of marketing communications, details of what you may be interested in, analysis and profiles we build up about you and your interests, and whether you open or read communications or links;
(d)             driving licence information, including any endorsements or convictions;
(e)              information about your health

3.1            The information that we hold about you comes from different sources. These are:
(a)             the driving instructor who provides you with lessons,

(b)             you directly, and any information from family members, (for example, if they are authorised to act for you, make a payment for you or book lessons for you);
(d)             information generated about you when you use our products and services;
(g)             sources such as Fraud Prevention Agencies, DVLA, other organisations to assist in prevention and detection of crime, police and law enforcement agencies.

4          REASONS FOR HOLDING AND USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

4.1            Your information may be used by us for the reasons below. We have arranged them according to the legal reason we are allowed to use the data.

4.2            To provide you with our products or services or decide whether to do so:
(a)             providing you with lessons and liaising with driving instructors;
(b)             communicating with you and holding records about our dealings and interactions with you;
(c)             making decisions about what we can offer you;
(d)             to share information as needed with business partners as required for managing your our products and services, administering or developing our products and services or our business.

4.3            For our legitimate interests:

(a)             to continually develop, improve and manage our risk assessment and pricing
(b)             to provide personalised content and services to you, such as tailoring our products and services,
(c)              to improve the operation of our business – and that of our business partners – for example, by improving customer service and operational performance and efficiency;
(d)              to monitor and to keep records of our communications with you and our staff (see below);

(a)             with instructors and potential instructors as part of administering lessons and driver training;
(b)             with people you allow to us to speak to on your behalf (e.g. parents or guardians if they book lessons for you);
(c)             with service providers who help us provide products and services to you or operate our business;
(d)             police and law enforcement agencies if we are required or need to support a criminal investigation;
(e)              governmental and regulatory bodies such as, DVSA or DVLA

(f)             organisations and businesses who provide services to us under our authority such as service providers, IT companies, and suppliers of business support services;
(g)             Fraud Prevention Agencies (see below); and

6          WITHDRAWING YOUR CONSENT

6.1            Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by using the contact details in the Contact Us section below.

7          CHANGES TO YOUR DATA

7.1            You should tell us when there are any changes to Your personal data so that we can update our records. We’ll then update your records if we can.

8        RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

8.1         Unless we explain otherwise to you, we’ll hold your personal information based on the following criteria:
(a)             for as long as we provide products or services to you and then for as long as someone could bring a claim against us;
